March at Manchester Pride 2023

24 Aug 2023
Lib Dems at Manchester Pride.

Following support from Manchester Council Group (which we are immeasurably thankful for), we are now altering our ticket prices to ensure that everyone can attend and celebrate with us. Instead of the set rate of £7, we are now inviting those that wish to march with us on Saturday 26 August 2023 to pay what they can afford.

This year is the first time we have been charged to attend Manchester Pride, with a cost of around £300. Although we have support from our Manchester Council Group and the ticket prices are now more affordable and accessible to all, we are politely urging people to please give what they can and donate to help us recoup as much of the cost as possible for our entry and additional costs.

This year is a really important one for local Lib Dems, with the election of Manchester’s first openly trans councillor. Also, it’s more important than ever that we have as many people in the parade as possible, given that this year’s theme is ‘Queerly Beloved’, chosen to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the legislation of same-sex marriage in England and Wales. This was, let us not forget, a LIB DEM ACHIEVEMENT!

If you’re marching with us and you haven’t purchased a t-shirt or a campaigners pack, that’s okay - we’d love it if you could still wear yellow to make us as visible as possible! If you haven’t ordered your ticket yet, please take this opportunity to get your name added to our list. Thank you to everyone who has booked their place and will be booking over the coming days - we can’t wait to proudly march alongside you!
