Conservative "Cynical politicking" over human rights
The Conservative Government has confirmed it will try to block the reform of the Gender Recognition Act overwhelmingly passed by the Scottish Parliament last month.
Lib Dem MP for North East Fife and Chief Whip in the House of Commons Wendy Chamberlain commented, "If the UK Government believed this legislation was a threat to the Equalities Act I wonder why the Scottish Conservatives gave their MSPs a free vote last month? Cynical politicking that damages devolution and vilifies a minority."
