Bernard has been a long-term campaigner within the Liberal Democrats and it's predecessor, the Liberal Party.


President: Layla Moran MP

Layla has served as the MP for Oxford West and Abingdon since 2017. She is currently a candidate for the leadership of the party.

She studied physics at Imperial College London, and worked as a maths and physics teacher before becoming an MP. She has served as the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for education since 2017, and as spokesperson for digital, culture, media and sport from 2019 to 2020. She is Britain's first openly pansexual Member of Parliament.

Lord Paddick

Vice-President: Lord Paddick

Lord Paddick currently sits in the House of Lords as a life peer. He was the Liberal Democrat candidate for the London mayoral elections of 2008 and 2012. He was, until his retirement in May 2007, Deputy Assistant Commissioner in London's Metropolitan Police Service, and the United Kingdom's most senior openly gay police officer.

Chuka Umunna MP

Vice-President: Chukka Umunna

Chuka served as MP for Streatham from 2010 until 2019. A former member of the Labour Party, he left to form The Independent Group, later Change UK, along with six other MPs, and later joined the Liberal Democrats, fighting to take the seat of Cities of London and Westminster at the 2019 general election.

Alex has served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Edinburgh Western constituency since 2016. He is currently the party's Health spokesperson in the Scottish Parliament. In 2018 he was expelled from the Scottish Parliament chamber for wearing an "ostentatious" tie in support of LGBT inclusive education.
