Bernard has been campaigning for LGBT+ rights for over 50 years. He played a prominent role in securing both the Liberal and Liberal Democrats Party's commitment to equality for LGBT+ people. He became the first openly gay man to hold national office in a UK political party. He has been active in both campaigning and community support in the front line, first in Cambridge and then for over 40 years in Leicester. He is currently researching the health of older LGBT+ people at De Montfort University.

Layla Moran ()

Layla has served as the MP for Oxford West and Abingdon since 2017. She is currently a candidate for the leadership of the party.

She studied physics at Imperial College London, and worked as a maths and physics teacher before becoming an MP. She is currently the Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary and International Development Spokesperson. She is Britain's first openly pansexual Member of Parliament.

Alex Cole-Hamilton ()

Alex has served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Edinburgh Western constituency since 2016. He is currently the party's Health spokesperson in the Scottish Parliament. In 2018 he was expelled from the Scottish Parliament chamber for wearing an "ostentatious" tie in support of LGBT+ inclusive education.

Kirsty Williams ()

Kirsty is currently Minister for Education in the Welsh government, and a former leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats (2008-2016). As Education Minister, she has overhauled Welsh Education, delivering a new Welsh curriculum which will see Wales become a world leader in LGBT+ inclusive Relationships and Sexuality Education.

Rodney Berman ()

Rodney is currently a councillor for the Penylan ward of Cardiff, and candidate for the Welsh Senedd in Cardiff Central & South Wales Central. He was formerly leader of Cardiff Council between 2004 and 2012, and in 2013 he was awarded the OBE for services to local government and the community in Cardiff.

Josh Babarinde ()

Josh is the founder and CEO of Cracked It, a social enterprise smartphone repair service staffed by young ex-offenders. He was recently awarded the OBE for Services to Criminal Justice, Social Enterprise and the Economy. A Lib Dem activist in Eastbourne, during the coronavirus lockdown Josh and his firm launched a scheme to provide free video phones to Eastbourne's care home residents so they could stay connected with their families and see their GPs online.

Jen Yockney (Jen Yockney)

Jen is one of the most prominent bisexual community activists in the UK, having worked on giving bisexual communities support and voice for the past twenty-plus years. She is active in many levels of community work: frontline support at the UK's oldest bisexual support group; publications and policy-making such as initiating meetings between the bi volunteer / activist community and GEO; and as a mentor actively reaching out to new volunteers to help bi groups and projects around the country blossom.

Richard Flowers ()

Richard is currently Treasurer of the English Liberal Democrats and an activist and Lib Dem campaigner in East London, where he has lived for 25 years. Richard married his husband Alex in 2014 thanks to Liberal Democrats in government creating the Same-Sex Marriage Act.
