Happy Pride 2021!
Today is the first day of Pride Month. While celebrating how far we've come, we need to keep making the case for the rights of all LGBT+ people. From homelesness to mental health to pay and trans rights, it's clear that we still have a lot of work to do to achieve justice and equality for all.
As just one recent example of how our progress is fragile, on Monday Liz Truss set about undermining Stonewall, the UK's leading LGBT+ charity, by calling for Government Departments to withdraw from its Diversity Champions Scheme. That's not something an LGBT+ friendly government would do. It really highlights how hard we need to fight.
To help you with your Pride activities and campaigns, we've put together a Pride Pack which you can find here. It includes key dates, links and briefings, as well as content ideas and Canva templates. If you have anything you would like to add to the pack, or anything you think are missing, please don't hesitate to get in touch at email@example.com. Please do also share this with your local and regional parties.
We've also got an action packed events calendar for Pride month, and we hope you'll be able to join us. There will be more coming in July and August, but for June you may be interested in some of the following:
- Thursday 10 June, 7PM - Councillors Network (RSVP here)
- Tues 15 June, 12:30PM - Trans Rights Training (RSVP here)
