Sir Ed Davey MPThe House of Commons has today voted to update sex education in schools to Relationships & Sex Education, with more age-appropriate education about issues like gender, sexuality and consent.

The bill passed third reading by an overwhelming majority - 538 votes to 21.

Ed Davey MP, Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston & Surbiton, celebrated the news on twitter writing:

"Proud to have just voted for LGBT-inclusive Relationships & Sex Education in Parliament. Having tabled & moved amendment to abolish the appalling section 28 back in 2003, this latest step forward has taken too long But at least we have something to celebrate today!"
