LGBT+ Lib Dems Summer Strategy conference 2013

LGBT Lib Dems campaigners at the 2013 Summer Strategy Conference

LGBT+ Lib Dems will hold their Summer Strategy Conference in East Didsbury, Manchester next weekend (Saturday 21st June, 11am-5pm). The Conference is open to all members of the organisation, and will discuss ways to improve campaigning on LGBT+ issues both within the Liberal Democrats and more widely.

Executive member Dave Page said, "The Liberal Democrats' record on LGBT+ equality in Government gives us much to be proud of, but there is far more to do, and the delivery of parts of the Government's action plans on LGBT+ issues could be improved. At our conference we will be working as a team to further the Liberal Democrats' excellent record of LGBT+ equality. We've always been there... and we'll make sure we always will!"

If you're a member of Plus and haven't already registered for the conference, please RSVP via e-mail to secretary@plusld.org.uk

LGBT+ Lib Dems will also be in attendence at the Association of Liberal Democrats Campaigners and Councillors' local government conference in Milton Keynes on 28th June. The organisation will be launching an updated edition of our Local Government Guide. Dave Page added, "ALDC is the lifeblood of campaigning and local government in the Liberal Democrats. The Lib Dem policies put into place by the Localism Act give local government more powers that can improve the lives of LGBT+ people. We want to make sure that Lib Dems in local Government are doing the best we can for LGBT+ people."
