Time running out - let them decide!

Sign the petition today
Have you signed Andrew Falconer's petition to enable civil partnerships to be conducted in churches and other religious venues? Time is running out as the deadline for this petition is this Friday, 30 October.
Under the Civil Partnership Act 2004, civil partnership ceremonies are forbidden from taking place in any building designed for or used solely for religious purposes. Lib Dem parliamentary spokesperson for Brighton Pavilion, Andrew Falconer, has launched a petition to amend the legislation. "This is not about forcing gay marriage on churches" he says. "It is about allowing churches and faith groups sympathetic to same-sex partnerships the ability to decide for themselves whether to allow ceremonies."
It has garnered 1,608 signatures so far: DELGA members and supporters are warmly encouraged to sign the petition and encourage your friends and fellow campaigners to do so too!
