Help draft Lib Dem policy

January 2, 2007 2:40 PM

DELGA is kicking off the new year by encouraging our members to get more involved in the Liberal Democrats' policy making process at the first stage - the policy making groups connected to the party's Federal Policy Committee (FPC). The deadline for nominations for this is 22 January, so those interested need to act soon.

It should be noted that the FPC is changing the way that it recruits members for policy working groups. Instead of advertising each working group individually, they will advertise for a general pool on an annual basis, and the FPC will choose members from that pool for all the groups set up during the year. The deadline for applications for the 2007 pool is 22 January. The application form and details of where to return it can be found on the policy page at the Federal party website: http://www.libdems.org.uk/party/policy/

The FPC has taken the decision in principle to establish working groups on the subjects of higher education, further education, science and Europe early this year, so anyone with an interest in these topics would be particularly welcome.
