Welcome for new HIV resource

November 14, 2006 1:33 PM

The National AIDS Trust has launched a practical resource for teachers providing ideas on integrating HIV into the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4. The pack is designed for use throughout the school year, but has been launched ahead of World AIDS Day, so that teachers can plan lessons and activities for this international day of awareness.

DELGA Chair Jen Yockney welcomed the new resource: "Publications like this and equivalent resources for LGBT awareness have transformed education since my schooldays in the 1980s. Appropriate teaching on matters of sexual health is important in addressing myths and helping young people to make informed decisions about their personal lives."

"This new Schools Pack is a welcome bid to improve HIV education in schools."
