DELGA Chair Kelvin Meyrick has welcomed the news that the Liberal Democrat petition to stamp out homophobia in schools has topped 2,000 signatures.

"Thankyou to so many people for giving this campaign their support. This campaign will continue into the Autumn including a fringe meeting at Lib Dem Conference on the subject."

"I urge all DELGA's members - and supporters of our campaign, whether or not they normally back the Liberal Democrats - to help us keep up the momentum. It only takes a moment to email friends or add a link to the petition from your blog or web page, and the DELGA web page helps by giving you the code to cut-and-paste to produce the Stop Homophobic Bullying button logo."
