Manchester MP John Leech welcomes Pride to the City

At the start of Manchester Pride's big weekend, Withington MP John Leech sent a message of support to the event and its attendees.
"As a Liberal Democrat, I am proud of my party's longstanding and unparalleled commitment to LGBT equality. As a Mancunian, I am proud that my city is host to one of the biggest LGBT Pride events in the country.
"Manchester Pride is a time for celebration of what we have achieved and how far we have come. It is also time for reflection on the friends we have lost on the way, and the struggles at home and abroad we have yet to win.
"I am confident that I and my fellow Liberal Democrats will continue to support LGBT people and equality. We have always been there... and we always will!"
