Today was the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO). Around the country, town halls, businesses and other properties flew the rainbow flag to raise awareness of prejudice and violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.

Cllr. Simon Ashley, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Manchester City Council, said "I am proud to be a member of a party that has a proud tradition of campaigning and supporting LGBT equality. Long may it continue!"

In Lib Dem run Cardiff at 10am this morning, Liberal Democrat Executive Member for Housing, Communities and Social Justice, Cllr Judith Woodman along with Liz Morgan, Director of Stonewall Cymru, together raised a rainbow flag at City Hall. Judith said: "As a council we are committed to equality for all, our aim is to create a city that allows everyone to be themselves and which shows respect to everyone.
